If the direst of warnings are to subsist believed, some 40 Windows applications could be in danger thanks to a crack in Apples iTunes for Windows.
The flaw, which Apple claims to be favored with patched months ago, leaves the Windows shell and numerous other applications vulnerable to an attack, security researchers are warning. The Slovenian security-research firm Acros Security issued an advisory about the flaw, a caution echoed by Rapid7 Chief Security Officer HD Moore, though both are feed details close to their vest to prevent exploits in the savage.

The bug was initially identified by Slovenian bug sleuthing rooted Acros Security, which said in a security advisory issued Wednesday that it had before that time notified Apple NASDAQ AAPL.
